US Blames China for Web Vandalism

The US is blaming China for recent government web site hacks. Sounds like more new Cold War crap to me. The story also mentions the fact that “American hackers have vandalized scores of Chinese Web sites since the spy plane collision.”

Websites operated by the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services were working properly Sunday after being vandalized one day before by hackers who federal officials believe are from China.

A picture of Wang Wei, the Chinese pilot who was killed in a collision with a U.S. Navy spy plane April 1, was posted Saturday on the Department of Labor’s website. Agency spokesman Stuart Roy compared the vandalism to graffiti: “You can lock up a store so the merchandise is safe,” he said, “but you can’t stop somebody running by with a can of spray paint.”

The Netherlands Legalizes Gay Marriage

As expected, the Netherlands has legalized gay marriage. The story comes from Plastic and can be found on CNN:

Four gay couples have exchanged rings and vows at Amsterdam’s City Hall in the first same-sex marriages recognised by any country.

Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen officiated at the ceremony for three male couples and one female couple, which took place immediately after the law permitting gays to wed took effect at midnight on Saturday.

It was the denouement of a 15-year campaign to allow gay couples equal rights under civil law. The legislation easily passed through both houses of parliament last year.

Pokemon Banned in Saudi Arabia

According to Plastic Saudi Arabia has banned Pokemon. “…the video game and cards have symbols that include ‘the Star of David, which everyone knows is connected to international Zionism and is Israel’s national emblem, as well as being the first symbol of the Freemasons.”
