TNR uncovers more of Ron Paul’s racist newsletters

typical ron paul supporter

Above: typical Ron Paul supporter.

TNR’s story here.

Scans of newsletters here.

Paul’s official response.

The Paultards are still in deep denial about all of this. Read Ron Paul racist newsletter FAQ for a swift debunking of the claims of Paul’s defenders. And that was written before TNR released their selection of newsletters came out.

I doubt this will hurt Paul much. If anything, it will only galvanize his supporters (who refuse to believe anything bad about him) and attract more racist supporters.

(Hat tip and apologies to Nick Pell for the picture and caption).

Business 2.0: Burning Man grows up

Each Burning Man has a different theme, chosen by Harvey. This year’s theme is “The Green Man.” Burning Man, an extravaganza characterized by the consumption of huge quantities of fossil fuel, has discovered environmentalism. It is attempting to offset the 28,000 tons of carbon it estimates the event generates (counting all those flights and long drives for its far-flung attendees), and the organization is belatedly switching to biodiesel generators to provide most of the event’s electricity.

Most controversially, the organization wants to bring as many green-energy companies as possible into what Harvey calls a world’s fair of clean tech. Google (Charts, Fortune 500) is going to help produce an online 3-D search service called Burning Man Earth.

Full Story: Business 2.0.

For those seeking a small, free alternative, Autonomous Mutant Fest starts this weekend. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to make it down there this year, but I believe Nick Pell and some other esoZone/Portland Occulture folks will be on hand.

Ultraculture Journal # 1

Update: After some public comments made by Jason Louv and Shivanath, I felt compelled to distance myself from them. Read about it here.

The first Ultraculture Journal dropped on Friday. It reprints rare works by Genesis P. Orridge and Brion Gysin and includes the text of a yet to be released spoken word piece by Jhonn Balance. It also includes new work by many others, including rituals by Technoccult pals Nick Pell, Edward Wilson (aka Fenris), and Shivanath.

Download it free here.
Buy it on Lulu here.
Check out the Ultraculture web site here.

Here’s Fenris’s Instant Bushido ritual:

Instant Bushido

To be used any time the concerns of your day or worry about your
problems is bothering you.

Take your hands hold them in front of you palm up, so that you can look at both.

I want you to reflect on the situation that has disturbed your equilibrium.

See with your mind’s eye the scenes played out, feel what it feels
like, hear the sounds you heard or fear you will hear.

Take all of those images, sounds, and feelings and push them into a
ball on your right hand.

Compress them into one chunk of swirling angst, let that become an
image symbolizing the whole upset.

Then in your left hand, visualize your own skull. It is cold and kind
of moist as it has been in the ground for a long time. Feel the weight
of it and realize you are going to die. It is a foregone conclusion,
already happened.

Compare the contents of your two hands.

Does the situation that has upset you matter at all compared to your own death?

With a dismissive flick of your hand discard the one that doesn’t matter.

Last minute gift advice from Technoccult

santa claus

(Image swiped from Chris Noeth).

Been slacking on your holiday shopping? We’ve come up with a list of great gifts for the mutants in your family or social circle.

Klintron:

The God That Wasn’t There.

Psychopedia of Slack.

Paul Laffoley posters.

Lost Girls.

Fell the Don:

Titillation Lip and Nipple Balms, by Agent Provocateur

Seriously, if your gonna play it up this winter season, get your better half these little gems (bundled as one) from this popular European lingerie company. Use it wisely.

Viva Pi?ata, for the Xbox 360

I hate console games and the only game I like on the PC is Company of Heroes, but this gem has the perfect balance or addictiveness and appeal that anyone can enjoy. It’s like crack for kids and anyone that hates video games.

Spectacle, by David Rockwell & Bruce Mau

We’re all obsessing over Second Life and virtual communities, but it’s worth remembering the universal power of the town square, the arena, and the other very real places where we come together. The book to read about why we love to experience things together and publicly is David Rockwell and Bruce Mau’s Spectacle. It’s a coffee-table-size exposition of NASCAR, Burning Man, Hindu religious rites in the Ganges, and other glorious spectacles that people experience together.

Baraka, by Ron Fricke

Baraka is an incredible journey through 6 continents, 24 countries. It is a collection of high quality images, presented in a moving and compelling manner. Hopefully everyone you know has seen it, but, if not, smoke a joint and sit down to one of the most beautiful pieces of cinema ever made. It’s a nice reminder seeing as how Fricke’s next piece – the spiritual successor to Baraka – called Samsara, is set to be released in 2007.

The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy Boxed Set, by Nick Bantock

Few books are more romantic than this trilogy, nor more surreal. The legendarily popular trilogy of books containing the Griffin-Sabine correspondence literally contains the correspondence: postcards, front and back, and letters in envelopes pasted into the book, which the reader must open and read. Nick Bantock’s story was way ahead of the computer game Myst, with which it shares a moody allure. His artwork is gorgeous, and countless romances have been intensified by exposure to that of Griffin and Sabine.

Brenden Simpson:

Barry Sautner Tree of Life Sculpture Vessel Vase.

KJB Security Omni Spectral Correlator.

Val Saint Lambert Crystal Bateau Ivre – Caviar Bowl.

TrekStor i.Beat organix Gold MP3 Player (1 GB).

Grizzly Bear Coffee Table.

Ball Chair.

Somatron Clinical Recliner.

Former guest editor Nick Pell:

Craftwork!: an EsoTech manifesto

Nick Pell has posted a manifesto for EsoTech:

EsoTech makes its aim not only better magic!al hardware but also powerful means of customizing the software built into a magic!al machine. At the heart of EsoTech is the development of new technologies for magic!. It is easy enough to view objects like the Dream Machine, the Wishing Machine or the Time Machine as so many metaphorical whimsies, its another to actually grok their application … These items all epitomize the spirit of EsoTech. They build on the basic aims and techniques of magic! (meditation, unity of desire and time control) while exploring them thru unconventional, creative and downright bizarre means. If yr contribution to EsoTech doesn?t make people wonder if yr a bit mad, you aren?t doing it right.
