J.G. Ballard
J.G. Ballard was the author of Crash, Atrocity Exhibition, Concrete Island, and many others. His novel Empire of the Sun,Ballard’s fictional account of his experiences in Shanghai as a child during World War II, was adapted to film by Tom Stoppard and Steven Spielberg in 1987. Crash was adapted by David Cronenberg in 1996. Those two novels are therefore probably his best known works, but he is otherwise best known as an author of science fiction. He was an important influence on the development of cyberpunk.
