Machinima and related projects
So a year or two I started to hear about Machinima: people using Quake and other video game engines to make animated movies. There wasn’t a whole lot going on at first, and I sort of kept the idea in the back of my head.
Recently I hit Machinima.com, expecting to find tons of movies in all genres and tools to help people do this stuff easily. Well, it came up lacking. Lithtech Film Producer will hopefully be really cool when it comes out. And the first episode of Anachronox is pretty good. I started downloaded the second one but it errored out and I couldn’t just resume it because it has to be downloaded from crazy special servers. And the files are just so big.
Swen links to a few interesting Quake based art projects.
Any other recommendations?
All of this reminds me of the old demo scene. Does anyone know of anyone who’s famous who started out doing demos or doing MOD tracking? The only person I can think of is Cex.
